Our Little Mermaid has recently made her debut, but I will always remember my baby shower as a magical and beautiful day shared with family and dear friends. Dusted in gold, blush, and peach this dreamy Baby Shower was a splendid way to celebrate our Little Mermaid on the way!
A lot of the mermaid baby shower decor was also incorporated into Cosette’s Nursery, so thoughtful planning went into multipurpose pieces such as this Tassel Garland made by BlushBazaar on Etsy! I found the Mermaid Sign at Home Goods, but did a little DIY action and repainted it Gold with a little Gold Glitter for sparkle. I used only the best Gold Spray paint: Design Master 24 KT Gold. From the coral cake topper to the Oyster Pearl Cookies made by my sweet friend Danielle, mermaid flair was everywhere!
Every mermaid also wears her pearls, and it is not a baby shower without games, so we played the “Don’t Say Baby” Game with a strand of pearls for each guest. Who ends up with the most strands wins! Another fun game provided by my dear friend Samantha, is the “What’s in Your Purse?” Game. This was a great one to play during lunch when everyone is sitting down with their purses, and to gear it towards baby, you can add items like baby wipes, diapers, or binkies! Each item is worth a certain amount of points, and whoever has the most items in their purse, wins! The prizes were DIY Glitter Champagne Bottles and Seashell Chocolates fit for a mermaid.
Another fun and memorable Baby Shower idea is to send a little poem in the invitation that encourages your guest to bring a new or used Children’s Book instead of a card. The books were filled with sweet notes to Cosette, and she will be reminded of them each time we read to her. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate our Little Mermaid!
