Perfect for Weddings, Baby Showers, Parties, or Photo Shoots, a floral crown adds a simple yet beautiful statement to any ensemble. Made with real flowers and foliage, this natural and whimsy DIY Floral Crown is so easy to accomplish, just follow these Three Easy Steps!
I made this Floral Crown for my Baby Shower, and then switched out the dahlias for new ones for our Maternity Shoot the next day! (Photos from our maternity shoot to be revealed soon!)
DIY Floral Crown Steps:
Pick up Green Floral Wire Stems, Green Floral Tape, Green Foliage & a small Bouquet of your favorite flower ( I chose Pink Dahlias) plus a secondary, complimentary flower (I chose Baby’s Breath).
You will need floral shears or scissors to cut your flowers. Cut the flowers down to a 2″ Stem, and cut the long green foliage near the bottom (discarding the thicker, woody stem).
Intertwine 2 Green Wires together, making 2 thicker Green Wires. Then Intertwine the thicker green wires. Measure around your head with the wires to get the right size and then join them together. Wrap Green Floral Tape around the entire Wire Crown to prevent the wire from catching onto your hair.
Add the Green Foliage, wrapping it around your crown. I used 2 stems of this Green Foliage, and secure with Green Floral Tape in a few key areas.
Pick a side where you would like the Flowers on your crown. Then take the largest of the blooms, and secure that flower closer to your ear. You will then build out towards your temple, gently covering the stems and tape with the blooms as you tuck them behind each other.
Voila! You are ready to wear your Floral Crown! If the flowers deem to be too heavy, you can pinch the wires at the back of your head for a more snug fit. Lay flat in your refrigerator until you are ready to wear your floral crown!
So beautiful! I love your blog, your posts are all so lovely and amazing 🙂 ❤
